The Guest Side is a library of information for post509, servicemembers, veterans and their families in the community, state and nation; Some of us have blogs and some of us have personal webpages, but the bread and butter of the World Wide Web is the website—that is, a collection of related webpages filled with data, media content, and often ecommerce options, all found at the same domain name. When you think of the Web, you're generally conceiving of a collection of millions of websites.  A website is a collection of web pages, interconnected with hyperlinks, that presents primary and secondary sources, interactive multimedia, and analysis. The website will be an accumulation of research and argument that incorporates textual and non-textual (photographs, maps, music, etc.) description, interpretation, and multimedia sources to engage and inform viewers about your chosen topic.   Websites can display materials online, your own analysis as well as primary and secondary sources.  These can be photographs, maps, documents, or audio and video files. Websites are interactive experiences where viewers can play music, solve a puzzle, or look at a video or click on different links. Viewers can move through the website in various undirected ways. Websites use color, images, fonts, documents, objects, graphics and design, as well as words, to tell your story.

I know that you have put in a lot time, work and effort into the website, but I would like to pass on some comments from the members during last Saturdays meeting. I informed them that the site was down for improvement. Their comments was, make sure you clean it up and make it user friendly. This should be a member’s website and the members are having problems getting around on it and using it. They have a point there. This is a Post site for the members. They should be able to use it easily and not have it so sophisticated that it take a genius to use it. You may have comments from other people from around the world, but this site should be for the members use. Last spring when I checked with DEC Phil Wein on the judging of the site, he stated that the site had too much garbage and none legion things on it. The above were comments from the members and other Legion people. As long as we are paying for the site, it should have what we requested. This member’s side is for the members of post509, who are having trouble navigating the guest side. This side is a personal generic website for the post, and has only pertinent information for the post as directed by its Administrator.
