Joseph Antonio Rogers, of Westampton, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was 84.He was the son of the late Antonio and Pauline Rogers, and was born in Mount Holly, N.J. on January 30, 1929. Joe attended Mount Holly High School and left in 1946 to join the United States Navy. He served three years and was honorably discharged in 1949. Joe was self-employed in the refuse business for most of his life. He was an active member of the Westampton Memorial American Legion Post 509, and spent years as a volunteer fireman for Westampton Fire Department. Joe leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Carolyn Young-Bean, Joseph Rogers Jr., Jerry Watson, Evelyne Watson, Monique Johnson, Sammy Watson and David Watson; his nine siblings, Minerva Rogers Bell (Joseph), Eugene Rogers (Beverly), Barbara Perez, Marie Caldwell, Norman Rogers (Lola), Luis (Mary), Joan Taylor, Brenda McDaniel, and Ronald Rogers (Pamela). He also leaves to mourn with great memories and love a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 20, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 150 East Second Street, Burlington, N.J. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service.
