Alfred Walker, a longtime Westampton resident, passed away suddenly Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at the Marlton Rehab Center in Marlton. He was 67 . Fred was born in Mannheim, Germany and had lived in Westampton for 42 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a nuclear field artillery officer and was a Vietnam Veteran. Fred received his bachelor's degree in history at Rowan University. He was an avid writer, he loved history, and cared very much for his community. Fred served as Mayor of Westampton, was a former Freeholder of Burlington County, and was a member of the Westampton American Legion. Fred was a devoted family man, a loving husband, affectionate father and grandfather, nephew, and loyal friend who will be deeply missed by all. Fred is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Walker; three children, Alfred Walker Jr., Michelle Bunting and Elisabeth Walker; and four grandchildren, Charles Bunting IV, Caitlin Bunting, Cameron Bunting, and Cole Walker-VanRooyen. Fred is also survived by his Uncle Martin Omlor in Germany and his former son-in-law, Charles Bunting III. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ LDS, 319 Bridgeboro Road, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Friends are welcome to visit with the family Thursday, Sept. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Lee Funeral Home, 317 High St, Mt. Holly. Interment will follow the service in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown Road, Wrightstown, NJ. Due to the Cemetery's restrictions on flowers the family is requesting no flowers. Ed Kaelin III
